All about Scoot and a FREEBIE!

It is a game where your kiddos answer questions or problems on a card as they walk to each desk. Our kiddos love it, especially when I say"Scoot" to signal them to move to the next desk. We have several units that include our original upbeat and fun songs for your kiddos to dance and sing to as they learn. We have been told that our songs are helping students to remember information about these science and social studies concepts, so please check them out while they are 50% off!

Here are a couple of our science units and just a few things included:

This unit has 100 pages of Plant Fun, including our original song about the plant cycle. My kiddos love to do the plant dance and sing this song. They also enjoy their own coloring book.

 Here are a few journal entries using our calendar words.

The students like to do a pair and share where they talk about the words.

The kiddos also enjoy sharing what they wrote. It is a great communication tool, especially for your ELL students because they are learning the language as they learn these words.

  Here are some of the writing my students have done through the year using these calendar words. The words give them confidence as well as helps them to stay on topic.

 This shows where one of my students needed some help choosing 5 calendar words to write about, so he wrote the words on top of the page. I love this idea! Kids can be so smart!

 As you can see, I used my student's idea with other students and it helped them so much!

 This was how much the writing improved in my first grade classroom as we used these calendar words!

Each card has a question about these words so you could use it as discussion cards, exit cards, as a Scoot game, read around the room cards or as our Brain Bounce game, which our kiddos love because they like to break up into teams.

This is our Quality Quest game. Your kiddos will have fun finding word chunks in these calendar words.

We added little magnifying glasses and our kiddos loved it! We told them that they were "word detectives"

This is the March Word Order Activities where the students cut out little shamrock with the words and manipulate them to place them in correct sentence order, glue them, copy the sentence, illustrate it and answer a bonus question. There is also a teacher guide to give y'all  teaching ideas.

This is a sample of what a student did with our January Cut and Glue sentences.

 This bonus question was "How were you a quality student?"

We put our word of the day calendar piece up and clap the syllables and discuss the meaning of a word like silly.  Then we go back to our seats and write the word in our calendar notebook.

This student decided to use some other words of the day.  I was so happy to see how she put all these words together!

I am also seeing my students using their calendar words in their daily journals.  Wow!  She even circled the words after she wrote the entry.

I also was excited to see this student point out a calendar word from our January calendar."Look Mrs. Beckner, the word blizzard.  This was one of our calendar words."  How cool is it to see them remember words from a couple of months ago!  Yay!!

This little guy is working on putting words in order for our April Activities.  They loved that I put the words on egg shapes because they asked me to do that for April.

 This gal had the great idea to highlight the calendar words on her sheet. 

The words are cut out and glued.  Then they copy the sentence, in their best handwriting of course:)

Then they illustrate the sentence.  I always love to see their illustrations!

And the last part of these print and go sheets is to write your own joke.  Some of them were actually pretty good.  I imagine they heard them somewhere.

I let the students tell their jokes to each other and they had a ball!  This is a great oral activity, especially for your ELL students.

This is our money bundle that will last 4 weeks if you follow the guided lesson plan.
