Fun Friday and 50% off our large Bundle of Pumpkin Fun

My kiddos had fun making this interactive pumpkin activity as they learned about the pumpkin cycle. You can do it in a science notebook of just make a pumpkin shaped activity.

Just click on the picture below and ya'll can purchase this large bundle of fun pumpkin activities for 50% off!

I gave each student a copy of the pumpkin poem to put in their poetry folder.  They used yellow highlighters to high light the rhyming words.
They always love it when I bring these out!

We also used the pocket chart cards of the poem to build it in the chart, and then I used it in a literacy center for my small groups. I loved the conversation between my kiddos as they put the cards in order. They even looked at words that started with a capital letter and discussed that those words had to go at the beginning. It was so cool when they yelled."We did it!" when all the words were placed in the pocket chart.

They even matched words to their poems to decide where they went in the chart.

We also enjoyed this original book about how Quentin learns to share and be kind when he goes to the pumpkin patch. He is reminded of what he learned in the "Quality Student" song. This original song is also included in this bundle. My kiddos love singing and dancing to the song. They also act out the letters as they spell,"Quality."

These are a few pages from our original book.

I gave them their own adapted version of the book for them to color and add to their book bags to practice reading. I let them use colored pencils, and they loved that!

We worked on the word family sorts in small groups as well.  There are 20 different word family sorts in this bundle.

These are some word family cards that I also had in a center to practice. You can also use the cards in a Scoot game because there is a recording sheet. I just laminated the cards and let them write on them with a dry erase marker.

This is one of the printables from the bundle that we did today. It is a dot to dot with at words and it makes a bat. They colored it black when they were finished and cut it out and glued it on a stick to make a puppet.

There are also more printables included.

We hope y'all had as much fun reading about our Fun Friday as we did sharing it with ya'll! You can get this large bundle for just $6 Today and Tomorrow- Oct. 10 and 11.

This is a sample from the October Calendar. The first set of words have to do with Columbus, and then will move into Fall and Halloween words. This pattern is an AB pattern, orange pumpkin, green pumpkin. The picture is Mandy, Quality Quentin's friend. If ya'll want to check any of the products we have with Quality Quentin or Mandy, just look under Quality Quentin under our custom categories on the left side of our store.  There is also a definition sheet and a journal sheet in the packs.

We use  calendar notebooks and the students write their words, sentences and do illustrations of the words in them.

The kiddos love sharing their notebooks.

The students have their own black and white versions of the calendars. They choose 5 of the words that go together to help them write a story for the Word of the day Stories for the month.

These are just a few samples of the writing that some of our students have done using the calendar words. They circle the words that they use.

This paper was written by one of my ELL students who struggled with writing at the beginning of the year. I noticed he would improve each month using these words. This is what he did in April. I was so proud of his improvement!:)

Here is how they were writing by the end of the year:)

We bind all the stories into a class book each month that the kiddos can read all throughout the year.

We hope that y'all will check these calendars out and will have as much success as we have:)

We hope y'all will come back and see our Halloween Bundles with books and fun printables. for Fun Friday ! We will be offering them 50% off in our store. See you then:)

We would also love to hear from ya'll!:)

FUN FRIDAY and 50% off Five Senses Unit!

My kiddos had so much fun learning about five senses! We sang and danced to the Five Senses song, which is included in this unit. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to take pictures of that. The students made these puppets with the words about that sense on the back of the puppets, so we read the back as we held up the puppets. Have your kiddos glue the stick between the two pieces that match.

You can purchase this unit 50% off for Fun Friday-Sept.26-27. Just click on the picture below to purchase.

This is the big book that I read after we sang the song.

This is one of the pages from the book. It was our favorite page because we talked about listening to the five senses song.

This student was so cute showing me this: "I have green eyes."

The kiddos colored their own black and white books and matched their puppets to the pages.

The students put their puppets and books in a ziploc bag, so we could practice reading them every day. They loved holding up the pieces as they read the words on the back of the puppets.

Then the students used their books to complete fill in the blank sheets.

They also did this cut and paste sheet.  I used these at a center while I was calling reading groups.

We had a lot of fun doing this science experiment. The kiddos took turns pulling items out of a bag and passed it to the student beside them until all the students in the group had a chance to feel it. They loved closing their eyes and pulling an item out of the bag!:) I did this with small groups of students, and it worked out great!

I love this picture of this little guy rubbing the bear against his cheek! He said,"This is so soft!"

The students filled out a hypothesis sheet and a conclusion sheet.

We sorted the items under the correct headings.

The students also sorted tasting cards under the correct headings.

We hope y'all enjoyed reading about our Fun Five Senses Unit! Thanks for stopping by our Fun Friday!:)
Have a great weekend!

Remember the unit with all this, song and more is 50% off this Sept.26-27.
